Audit the checks

Run an audit of [our checks, tests or checklists]. Look for duplicates too, not just whether each one is needed on its own merits. For each, look at what it checks and make sure it really checks what it says, and not something trivial that could never fail. Don't change anything, just report what you find. Be thorough and critical please, but not pedantically so.
